Choosing FLUX.2: max, pro, flex, klein and reference workflows

Different variants serve different tasks

BFL positions max for final quality and editing consistency, pro for production at scale, flex for typography and fine control, and klein for fast iteration. This is the vendor's positioning, not a HUUUIAI performance ranking.

Test with your own packaging, reflective products and identity-preserving edits. A more expensive model is useful when it reduces total revision work, not simply because its name is higher in a product family.

Check limits for the exact entry point

The current overview lists up to eight API references or ten Playground references for max, pro and flex, and up to four for klein. Do not transfer the broad family headline to every endpoint. Assign subject, composition and lighting roles to your references and start with the minimum necessary set.

Grounding and precise colors still need review

The documentation describes web grounding for max. Verify facts, dates and numbers independently. Hex colors in a prompt are useful instructions, but inspect the exported asset and its color space before printing or delivering brand materials.

Open weights have different licenses

The overview distinguishes Apache 2.0 for klein 4B from the FLUX Non-Commercial License for klein 9B. Downloadable weights do not automatically permit every commercial use. Model licenses, API terms and rights in input materials must be checked separately.
