Thumbnails, previews and originals: checking AI asset quality
Distinguish canvas display size from file resolution and export the correct asset for delivery.
Each resource serves a different purpose
Thumbnails help locate material, previews help inspect content, and original files are used for detailed review and delivery. They can represent the same result at different sizes or compression levels. A temporarily soft canvas image does not necessarily mean the generation itself has low resolution.
A preview may show an already-loaded small image before upgrading. Wait for the clear resource before judging small text. A screenshot captures screen pixels; it is not a substitute for downloading the source file.
Display size does not add pixels
The canvas size slider changes arrangement, not source dimensions. Zooming cannot recover missing detail. AI upscaling can invent textures, so inspect faces, logos and small print against the input rather than judging only the output width and height.
A delivery checklist
- Download through the actual export action.
- Check dimensions, format and transparency.
- Inspect readability at the target display size.
- Check critical structure and lettering at full resolution.
- Keep the original input associated with the final asset.
Video needs complete playback
A sharp poster does not establish good motion, bitrate or sound. Watch the full exported file and preview it on the destination platform. Investigate loading failures before resubmitting generation jobs; additional jobs rarely fix an existing preview request.
