Plan a narrow edit, leave room for natural transitions and inspect the result at three scales.
Separate changes from preservation requirements
List what should change and what must stay. Clothing edits may need to preserve identity and pose; product background edits should preserve shape, logos and packaging text. A mask communicates intent but does not guarantee pixel-perfect preservation outside its boundary.
When a region must remain exact, compare with the original and use conventional masking or compositing if needed. Different models interpret selection boundaries differently.
Leave space for a natural transition
- Zoom to a useful inspection scale.
- Select the object with a small amount of surrounding context.
- Avoid including protected text, faces or logos.
- Inspect edges and contact shadows before changing the mask.

Replace only the selected red chair with a light gray fabric chair. Keep its position, orientation and size. Preserve the floor, window and surrounding furniture. Match the existing light direction and contact shadow. Add no objects.
Review at three scales
Inspect composition when zoomed out, subject and lighting at normal size, and edges or small text at source resolution. Preserve approved intermediate results. A low-resolution thumbnail is for finding an asset, not judging final delivery quality.
