Use conversation to clarify the brief and a canvas to compare assets

When the goal is unclear, start with a conversation about purpose, subject and style. When you already have multiple references, candidates or a specific local edit, a canvas makes them easier to view and select together. The two approaches can connect within the same project.

This compares ways of working, not model rankings. Quality still depends on the current model, inputs and parameters. A canvas interface does not add model capabilities or guarantee lower costs or less time.

Choose for the task in front of you

• One vague idea: use conversation to define audience, purpose, subject, aspect ratio and what must stay.
• Product, composition and style references need to work together: organize them on the canvas, then confirm their separate roles in Composer inputs.
• Several candidates need comparing: keep originals and results on the same canvas and check subject, text and composition against the same criteria.
• Only a chair or shadow needs changing: select the approved image, use local editing and compare the result with the original.
• Prices, dates or brand copy must be precise: verify the copy first, inspect every word in the output and finish in a conventional layout tool when needed.

Turn a conversation into a canvas task

1. Condense the discussion into subject, composition, preservation requirements and output needs. Do not treat unapproved suggestions as final requirements.
2. Import clear references and wait for upload to finish. Group the assets for the same task.
3. Select the group, or box-select it with other objects, then check the individual inputs listed in Composer.
4. Remove irrelevant items individually without dissolving the group. Describe reference roles using the actual input order.
5. Choose a model that currently supports the required inputs, check settings and price, generate and compare with the original, then make one specific local edit.
6. Download the approved final file and save the original references and key requirements alongside it.

A canvas does not remove input limits

Input counts and media types depend on the model and workflow. Having many assets on the canvas does not mean they can all be submitted together. Image imports have a 20,250,000-pixel total limit and an 8192px longest-edge limit. Exceeding either requires choosing to resize for upload or cancel.

Canvas picking in an extension workflow differs from ordinary selection: the chosen asset fills the parameter that opened the picker, without replacing the entire Composer input set. Check the main-image and reference slots individually in the workflow form.

Author-written brief example, not generation-tested

With the subject reference already in the input bar, the following text turns a discussion into a checkable task. This author-written prompt has not been tested in a generation run. It is not a result demonstration or a promise of model capabilities.

Use the input product photograph as the subject for a landscape product scene. Preserve the product outline, packaging colors and logo. Place the product on the right and leave space for copy on the left. Use a simple light gray wall and light from the upper left. Generate no prices, promotional text or additional products.

Common mistakes and how to review

Local media used for generation is uploaded, and results return as remote media URLs. Browser history helps revisit recent records; it is not permanent storage. Save the actual files and original inputs separately.

• Treating every canvas asset as a task input: check Composer inputs or the relevant workflow parameter before submitting. A display filter does not replace this check.
• Assuming a filename mentioned in chat supplies a reference: add the actual asset and verify the current task inputs.
• Assuming a local selection locks all other pixels: compare unselected areas with the original and use masking and compositing when exact preservation is needed.
• Assuming the interface determines quality: check subject, packaging text and structure before judging style. Do not approve delivery from a thumbnail.
